When did Hollywood get lazy?
Remember when Hollywood was that hot, mysterious and sexy woman that everyone wanted to marry? Now, she's a FAT, SLOPPY, CUNT BITCH that you wish you never got involved with. I can be revealing my age, but my golden age of movies were Indiana Jones, E.T, Wizard Of Oz, Casablanca, Sound of Music, The Goonies, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Alien and Aliens. What the fuck happened? It seem that movies are just as bad as Hip Hop now. Green-lighting a movie, because of it's a marketing machine, IS NOT FILMMAKING. I haven't seen a movie that I have consider classic for a long time. The great thing about Indiana Jones, E.T, Casablanca, Wizard of Oz is that they had a deep moral story that didn't only change the protagonist in the film, but the audience that watched as well. You didn't have a 120 Million dollar budget to do it neither. Every movie was marketed well, I still have an E.T lunch pail. These movies made me want to be a filmmaker. The ability to make a living by using your imagination is a reward in itself. Not anymore, now studios are actually putting out the same movies, IN THE SAME YEAR!!! For example, After Earth and Oblivion, both movies are about a post-apocalyptic Earth abandoned by Human beings. A pair of human being stay on the planet to study it to see whether, it can be reinhabited again. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING? Come on, Sony and Universal, you guys are both respectable companies, whoever was in charge at the time that both films went into production could at least read the trades and said, wait a minute, "Someone is doing the same movie? Let's push it back till next year" These movies were released a few months after each other. Not good. Olympus Has Fallen and White House Down are another pair of movies with the same plot line: terrorist destroys White House, President is in danger and an underdog Secret Service want to be has to prove himself by saving the president. C'mon, Hollywood, you are better than this. It's sad, because they're great projects out there that haven't seen the light of day, because Hollywood is afraid of taking risk. Wasn't that the fun about Hollywood in the first place, believing in the projects, backing them up? What's happened to Hollywood? I miss you, come back to us. They're so many ideas out there that have been reject because Hollywood has lost it since of imagination. I'm ranting because it hurts because the movie theatre is on for spectacle films and not for creative content. I'm not saying that I don't see movies like Man of Steel or Star Trek, but I miss all the other genres of movies. Hollywood get off your lazy ass and get it together. What do you guys think?

What is the purpose of My Blog?
The Cine Rant is for aspiring writers, directors and producer to express their feeling about the products that are being put out by Hollywood. It gives you the freedom to vent with other filmmakers and give the consumers incite on the product that they're spending their hard earn dollars on. This where we can take our passions and have a constructive dialogue on movie whether good or bad. Most of the time you ask some one is a move good or bad, it's mostly a closed-ended question, but here we want to know why?
What's my target audience/market?
I'm aiming toward the film nerds, the fan boys and girls and the creative minds whose projects are just sitting in some room, being read, by some executive that don't know story, but only know dollars. The only people that care about films are the one that are in the trenches. We are Generation-Y and someday, we will be the new Brad Greys and the new Bob Igers. Even if the opinions on this blogs are absurd, I hope they're able to spark the brain.
Why are blogs valuable?
I believe blogs are valuable because their freedom of expression. Everyone has opinion and they deserve to express it. You can learn from others opinions, I mean after all, you need notes on a screenplay to make it better and is what I'm trying to do for the film industry, try to make it better. I believe in this industry and I'm trying to reach out to others that believe in it as well.
